Cookie Policy

Last updated: March 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your web browser when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work efficiently and to provide information to the site operators.

2. Cookies We Use

ACT uses a minimal set of cookies. We do not use any tracking, analytics, advertising, or third-party cookies.

Cookie Name Type Purpose Duration Flags
act_token Strictly necessary Authentication — contains a signed JWT token that identifies your session 7 days httpOnly, Secure, SameSite=Lax
act_cookie_consent Strictly necessary Remembers your cookie consent preference so we don't ask again 365 days Secure, SameSite=Lax

3. Strictly Necessary Cookies

Both cookies listed above are classified as strictly necessary under GDPR and the ePrivacy Directive. They are required for the website to function correctly — authentication cannot work without the session cookie, and the consent cookie is needed to respect your preference.

Under EU regulations, strictly necessary cookies do not require consent. They cannot be disabled without breaking the service.

4. Cookies We Do NOT Use

For transparency, we confirm that ACT does not use:

  • Analytics cookies — we do not use Google Analytics, Plausible, Mixpanel, or any other analytics service
  • Advertising cookies — we do not serve ads or use advertising trackers
  • Social media cookies — we do not embed social media widgets or share buttons
  • Third-party cookies — no external service sets cookies through our website
  • Fingerprinting — we do not use browser fingerprinting or any device identification techniques

5. Local Storage and Session Storage

ACT may use browser localStorage to store UI preferences (such as selected metric filters or dashboard state). This data is stored locally on your device, is never transmitted to our servers, and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings.

6. How to Manage Cookies

You can control and delete cookies through your browser settings. All major browsers allow you to:

  • View what cookies are stored
  • Delete individual cookies or all cookies
  • Block cookies from specific sites
  • Block all cookies (note: this will prevent you from logging in to ACT)

7. Legal Basis

Our use of strictly necessary cookies is based on GDPR Art. 6(1)(f) — legitimate interest and is exempt from the consent requirement under ePrivacy Directive Art. 5(3), as these cookies are strictly necessary for the service explicitly requested by the user.

8. Changes to This Policy

If we introduce new cookies (for example, analytics), we will update this policy and request your consent before setting any non-essential cookies.
